New Fan thru Twitter -- It did work!

Last year I didn't know the name of the group who played Shine; Runaway Train; Heavy; ect... Just loved the songs. I discovered CS thru twitter and have become a huge fan. I loved following their twitter posts. It was exciting to see twitpics and comments along their journey producing the new album. I don't know if it was really the band posting -- but it was fun! I purchased all of their previous albums and love them. Twitter worked -- at least for one fan -- and I can't be the only one.

I write this so new management (if they read this) can see that social media does work! Fans get jazzed and want to see the concert. I was excited when CS came to Fayetteville and then Charlotte - OMG! Fantastic! Saw info on Twitter. Unfortunately the twitters and interaction stopped around September. I feel my interest straying and can see the same on CS websites. Now I follow GDG on twitter, laugh at his posts and am thinking of buying some albums. CS -- Hope to see you in the social media arena soon -- @protocolgirl.

Well stated! I don't know if I agree that there's less interest though among those of us that find our way here, but you're so right that it's hard to cultivate new fans (or invigorate veteran ones) if there's not much outreach!

Do we get a second chance to these answers that we lack?
Or are we guided by the hope of some brilliant flash?
Tell me, tell me how long will this sobriety last?

Um, for the record, Collective Soul doesn't sing Runaway Train. That is Soul Asylum. CS does sing Heavy and Shine however. :)

I do miss the tweets, however, my interest is in no way fading....
