Yvette, I'm so sorry to hear you lost your mom. You have your beautiful memories and whenever you hear Collective Soul, you'll have another connection with her.
Sorry to hear about everyone else's loss as well. It's hard to lose ppl you love. I'm an only and both of my parents are gone, so I get it.
Hi Yvette I am still working on Computer Sciences and all relatives died in 2008 and I had counseling for three days while I was at NDSCS and my personal counselor had me take three days to have my candlelight vigil and remember all my relatives and I lost my best friend Tyson Renville in major car accident and I learned to cope with all my losses. We were at North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton,North Dakota. Someday you will see me in South Dakota but I live in the Glacial Lakes and Praires region of Northeastern South Dakota in Roberts County. Thanks for the advice .
Hi, I'm not sure if you will get this message but I have been trying to send a message to someone that will listen for a few months now. Tomorrow will make 4 months since my beautiful mother passed away. It might not mean anything to anybody but she meant the world to me. She loved Collective Soul and listened to them all of the time. She always said that if she were to die then we would have to play "Shine" at her funeral, and we did. She died too young and raised 7 children, we all have university degrees and two of us have our PHD'S and all love life and all now know who Collective Soul is. My mom was an amazing woman and very beautiful and loved R&R. She brought my little brother when he was 9 yrs old to see Kiss and brought another brother to see Alice Cooper and brought me to see David Bowie. She loved your music so much and she was ill for some time but her death still came as a shock to all of us. She would be on the sofa watching your concerts through satelite. I didn't know who you were! I get it now! Your song Shine was played at her funeral over and over because she wanted it. Since then I bought the DVD the one with the Atlantic Youth Symphony and have watched it so many times and I have been lending it to all of my siblings. It is the song that lives through us, our children and all of the relatives. I live in Edmonton and have two sisters in Toronto and a brother in Montreal so your DVD has travelled the country! I didn't know why she picked the song "Shine", only because I didn't know it. After listnening to the words countless times, I know why she chose it. My mom was a woman of faith and truly believed that there was something out there "give me a sign". Some of us got the sign some of us didn't. For my mom's birthday I was going to take her and my dad to see you at the River Cree Casino where you where performing but my mom told me that she was going to a cousin's wedding. I wish now that I would have taken her because that was the last time that she went out. I don't want anything from you but I just wanted for you to know how your music made such an impact on my mom's life and brought her so much happiness in her last years. Thank-you so much! If you're ever in Edmonton again I would love to see you!
