Ed Roland, founding member of rock band Collective Soul, plans to join the Kings of Chaos tour for three recently announced concert dates in South Africa in June 2013.
Matt Sorum, Gilby Clarke, Duff McKagan and special guest Slash of Guns N’ Roses make up half of the Kings of Chaos power group for the South African dates. Def Leppard’s Joe Elliot and Vivian Campbell, Skid Row’s Sebastian Bach, Deep Purple’s Glenn Hughes and Collective Soul’s Ed Roland complete the all-star line up. Sorum is the brainchild behind the project and wanted to form a band of close friends to tour the world playing each other’s greatest hits. To date, Kings of Chaos has played in Central and Latin America.
In October 2012 Ed Roland performed with Heineken Symphonic Rock, presented by AMP Events. “I had such a great time in South Africa and really enjoyed working with the AMP Events team,” commented Roland. “The energy of the fans and support of the music community is so great, we all knew that Kings of Chaos had to play in South Africa.”
Kings of Chaos will play GrandWest’s Grand Arena in Cape Town on June 8 and the Sun City Superbowl, North West on June 15 and 16 courtesy of AMP Events and Sun International. Tickets for Cape Town are priced from R375 and Sun City from R460 and are currently on-sale through Computicket.
For the past two decades, Atlanta native Ed Roland has been the front man and heart of the platinum-selling rock band Collective Soul. He has written seven #1 radio hits, and has sold more than 10 million albums worldwide. He often performs and tours internationally as a special guest in the super group Kings of Chaos. Ed Roland and The Sweet Tea Project will release their debut album, Devils n’ Darlins in 2013, followed by a U.S. tour. Collective Soul will be embarking on an extensive world tour celebrating the band’s 20th anniversary in 2014.
